Not in California?
Join with others in your own state to bring change through education, advocacy and activism. If you are not in California, here’s how to find your own online state group:
Use the formula
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURSTATENAMELyme
Fill in your state name and Lyme as one word, e.g. newyorklyme or pennsylvanialyme, or in the case of Washington DC, dclyme.
In South Carolina you need to insert a hyphen between the state name and Lyme, i.e. southcarolina-lyme.
You will receive a message asking you where you live and why you wish to join. We ask for this information to make sure people are applying to the right state group and to protect the site from spammers. Just reply briefly.
All the state sites are moderated, mostly by volunteers within the state. They can help you find resources, answer your questions, and let you know about local events. CALDA makes sure the state groups receive action alerts and updates on national issues.
About ten of these groups will point you to another site that was already operating when CALDA set up the network of state groups. You will get a message telling you how to find the active state group. In these cases, the CALDA state site does not accept members but is used as a bulletin board. Join the other group but bookmark the CALDA group and come by whenever you wish in order to see what is going on in the Lyme community.
