I can't help thinking Lymies are doing it wrong. Western medicine generally FAILS when it comes to all chronic disease. Look into Chinese Traditional Medicine. It is what got me well after 15 years of misery. Not only do these herbs (yes, quality controlled) deal with infection, but also inflammation, immune system, endocrine system — all body systems. They must know SOMETHING after 5000 years of practice. They fixed me.
Cass, good to read it helped you to heal. Anything that works is great. However, I react allergically to Chinese herbs. So we're all different when it comes to what works for each of us.
Early on, regarding treatment, I was told it involves three approaches: kill the organisms, detox and fortify. Antibiotics help to deter and kill the organisms. Chinese Traditional Medicine appears to fit in the fortification category.
It's good to know about all options and then try approaches to see if they work for us.
