The International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society, a nonprofit, international, multidisciplinary medical society, dedicated to the diagnosis and appropriate treatment of Lyme and its associated diseases, hosts annual medical and scientific conferences. The national Lyme Disease Association, an all-volunteer 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to Lyme disease education, prevention, raising monies for research, and patient support, also organizes an annual scientific meeting. Turn the Corner, a nonprofit foundation, is cooperating with the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) to offer grants through their Physicians Training Program to any licensed MD, DO, RN, PA, nurse practitioner or naturopath. This program provides healthcare professionals the opportunity to study with a Lyme-literate health care professional for about two weeks. It pays a per diem stipend and travel expenses.
