LYMEPOLICYWONK: HAPPY NEW YEARS CHANGE MAKERS!
I wanted to post a piece of poetry that captured the spirit of the Lyme community to ring in the New Year. I found this great Jack Kerouac poem about people who create change. Then I found out it was not by Jack Kerouac, but actually was an ad for Apple computers. Still, it is a great piece that captures the essence of a community that tirelessly swims against the current trying to change the status quo. And now for that poem. . .
Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels.
The troublemakers. The round
pegs in the square holes – the
ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules and
they have no respect for
the status quo. You can praise
them, disagree with them,
quote them, disbelieve them,
glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing that you
can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.

Your kind sentiments are appreciated, I think?
~smile~
We are certainly blessed to have you on our side, guiding us in our mission to change things.
Thank you, Lorraine Johnson, for working so hard to help those who are too sick to help themselves.
Happy New Year to you!
How could I not become a rebel?
When you know the date and the place you were bitten by a tick as I do (February 2005). See your own health deteriorate to the speed of light as mine did as if my life was falling off a cliff with no land in sight to crash.
Finding a courageous doctor to diagnose me in 2007 and that will not let go of me until you can function again is a miracle! One that I am privileged to. (many do not get that chance).
You bet I am a rebel and so is my husband that stood by me and witnessed the whole thing.
Thank you Lorraine and CALDA for all you do and how you are. You are an inspiration and give me big shoes to fill!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy new year to you all!!!!!!!!
