NEWS: Key facts about Lyme disease
Writing about Lyme disease on the Huffington Post, Dr. Leo Galland asserts: "The Infectious Diseases Society of America has stated that three weeks of antibiotics will cure 'over 95 percent' of people with Lyme disease. But many experts have challenged these treatment guidelines as being inaccurate. As I see it, even if the Infectious Diseases Society of America's guidelines are accurate, they are grossly inadequate: a failure rate approaching five percent for a curable disease is unacceptable."

Great article Dr Galland! It's such a relief to read an accurate description of this devastating disease. There's so much false information out there and unfortunately that's the information that most Docs follow. My daughter had the good fortune of getting the right treatment and is well on her way to health. She finally tested positive after several months of treatment, but not positive enough according to the CDC. She was diagnosed clinically and treated aggressively with antibiotics. Previous to finding a Lyme literate specialist she went 4 years without a diagnosis, suffered many symptoms and was finally told to see a psychiatrist because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. What a nightmare! She's one of the lucky ones. After 2 years of treatment my daughter has begun to get her life back. I'm so grateful that there are people like you Dr. Galland, who are spreading the word on the reality of Lyme and how to treat it. Many thanks.
