New game teaches kids about tick prevention and Lyme disease
Over the last five years, the Lyme Education Awareness Foundation, also known as LEAF, has taught more than 10,000 children how to protect themselves from tick-borne disease.
Now, the Maryland-based organization has created a game that they hope will spread their message to even more children in the future.
It’s called “Tick Alert: The Quest for Safety,” and is designed for groups of children at schools, camps, and other teaching venues.
Through playing the game, kids learn about tick habitats, prevention methods, identification, and possible diseases ticks carry.
For more information on how your school, after-school program, summer camp, summer program, organization, and family can bring “Tick Alert: The Quest for Safety” to your group, contact the LEAF program.
