Ask your senators to co-sponsor Lyme disease bill (S. 1503)
Senators Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) have introduced the bipartisan Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Prevention, Education and Research Act of 2015 (S. 1503). It may either end up as a stand-alone bill, or it might be included in a larger Senate bill, similar to the 21st Century Cures Act passed by the House in July. Either way, it addresses many issues important to the Lyme community. Please contact your US Senators and ask them to support and co-sponsor this measure.

Please pass this bill. My grandson has been fighting this battle for 6 years, with no end in sight. You can’t imagine what this disease is like unless you live with it.
Please help.
Please help us. We have no doctors, insurance isn’t taken because of negative ramification. I’ve been sick 19 years. Please help me and help to protect our doctors. I want you to think back to HIV/AiIDS when it first came on to the medical scene. Just follow that history and you are looking at lyme disease. Thank you.

My husband died of Lyme disease almost 5 years ago. He suffered so greatly and the fight we had to go thru to try to get him treatment was horrendous. I have Lyme and am fighting for my life. Please listen to the thousands upon thousands of us who have this horrid disease. Heidi Fenolio
Well, now another one of my children touched by Lyme. When are they going to acknowledge they are KILLING people because of DENYING TREATMENT! All doctors and affiliates that are a part of this whether in government or not we need to get a petition going so we can go back on the ones that hurt our loved one’s.

Help my family with Lyme disease I have my daughter infected plus I think my son has it as well! It is outrageous the insurances don’t cover treatment!
It is of EXTREME importance that US Senate Bill #1503, now in a committee which our Washington State US Senator Patti Murray chairs, get out of committee, and a vote is taken in the US Senate. US Senate bill #1503 deals with Lyme disease. The bill has the support of all 13 east coast senators. We have Lyme disease here in the west as well. Our daughter and her 12 year old son, who live here in Washington state, have recently been both diagnosed with multiple strains of Lyme. It is very difficult to find treatment for Lyme in our state even in our major city of Seattle as only a few doctors will treat Lyme especially as a chronic condition. It is also very expensive to treat chronic Lyme as the insurance companies do not like to pay for the treatment…….please…get bill #1503 out of committee, take a vote on the bill on the senate floor, and hopefully pass the bill. To pass the bill the west coast senators need to join the east coast senators in supporting the bill. . In the US there are over 300,000 new cases of Lyme diagnosed each year, so lots of families around the country have a family member suffering from Lyme disease. Therefore, it is of EXTREME IMPORTANCE that Bill #1503…get out of committee….and a vote taken on the floor of the US Senate….PLEASE PASS BILL #1503.
Please pass Bill #1503. Too many of our loved ones are suffering from Lyme Disease and not getting the help they need. You can help! Please follow through with this, pass Bill #1503!
Lyme Disease has affected many of my friends, my son and ME! We need you to pass the bill to help find answers.
Lyme is a terrible disease, insurance doesn’t recognize it and besides the cost it is so debilitating, my daughter has, it plus babiesa etc..it is very prevalent here in VA as in some other states, please support this bill. Thank you
It is imperative that our government representatives listen and take seriously this insidious, disabling, and sometimes lethal disease (Lyme disease). It takes; people’s ability to be productive members of society in all aspects, and results in years of pain and suffering, ignored, unvalidated, abused, and denied access to proper health care due to insurance and medical system internal disagreements. Lyme disease not properly and timely treated causes innumerable long-term complications, which result in a lifetime of chronic illness poorly if any recognized by our medical system. This is a crime to say the least, to deny any person of proper access to health care just because of politics. And personally, as a mother, I am very well aware of all this, as my youngest daughter recently died at age 32 of such long-term complications, after 12 years of overwhelming health problems, pain and suffering, disability. Please favor the 21st century cure act and act proactively in any other way to help solve this national health problem, instead of sweeping it under the rug.
