Recreational marijuana is legal in nine states and medical marijuana is legal in 29 states.
Vermont became the first state to legalize marijuana through the legislature, rather than a ballot initiative, in January 2018.
A recent Gallup poll showed that 64% of Americans support legalization.
I am former law enforcement officer to be a citizen of a progressive state, too long have citizens been punished for using a drug that doesn’t even come close to doing the harm alcohol does. It’s time the booze drinking judges and law enforcement officers accepted reality. Hypocrisy has ruled for decades time to come out of the closet. A drunk driver kills someone, it’s local news, a pot smoker becomes national on the nightly news, smarten up. Take the booze away from our legislators and see the furor that would cause.
Walter Duda — You have that right. Makes no sense at all to let a drug that really harms be accepted and another, not so harmful, be so demonized. I have never touched alcohol, but with what I have been reading about Rick Simpson, may want to try it just to see if it helps with Lyme. I will not try it though because I am not a rule breaker and do not want to live with the guilt I would feel. Crazy upside-down world we live in.
NOT a marijuana fan!!!
Hi GMD. You don’t say why you are not a fan. Is it because you have found it does not work medically for you ? Or is it just its side-effects that worry you?
gotcha me neither.
It should be valued on a scientific logical basis, not a knee jerk reaction. I don’t like the idea of smoking it, but other modalities such as sublingual, vamping, hard candies etc would be useful. I personally have not tried it medically, but when I was in college messed around with it. I did not like it. It made me paranoid. Perhaps medical marijuana in other modes than smoking would help me, or certain strains or products from it would help. My biggest problem is fatuge right now. Pain seems well controlled. But the fatuge, tiredness, being cold and hot flashes are driving me crazy. I am also a cancer survivor so some of this is left from that. Also a low immune system is a problem, that’s why I think I got the Lyme in the first place. Not one bout, but two.
Abigail, you got it from tick bites, two of them, nothing to do with your immune system.
