Asian Ticks (Mysteriously) Turned Up On A New Jersey Sheep

How did a tick that’s native to East Asia make it to rural New Jersey?
That’s the question puzzling researchers. The backstory involves a panicky sheep owner, tick-covered humans and a pair of pants stuck in the freezer.
The tick in question is Haemaphysalis longicornis — also known as the longhorned tick or bush tick. READ MORE.
What’s the big deal? We travel all over the planet, and transport all kinds of things, including humans, that carry any kind of bugs of any size. Accept it.
You obviously don’t deal with Lyme Disease nor know how this can really throw off what little we’ve accomplished during these past few months. Throwing a new dynamic into the mix of what little knowledge we have on this topic only makes things more difficult.
More wonderful news regarding the Lyme war. We can barely understand what diseases our own ticks are passing, now we have foreign ones. The government needs to see this a major problem and needs to get even more committees on the tick issue.
These “researchers” better return to school! Pathetic! No wonder we who are suffering from TBDs are getting nowhere! How did the beetles that are killing off our maple and rose of sharon trees get from Asia to the US?
It’s not really news to me look at all the people coming into America and pets that travel as well as farm animals transported into the US? Things need to be done and as usual Lyme Disease and tick explosions continue too fall on deaf ears
It is not a mystery of how the Asian ticks showed up on the sheep. They flew there on birds!!!
