I have been struggling with chronic Lyme for years. I have been misdiagnosed by a wide variety of specialists until finally I got the help I needed. I still need ongoing treatment and am thankful for the few Lyme specialists who have helped me.
As I am also a nurse practitioner, I have also treated many patients with the disease. This disease is an epidemic in Connecticut and needs more comprehensive action and study!
Dear Sir :
Tick Borne Diseases are the 21st Century’s equivalent of the the HIV story since like AIDS we are dealing with a multi-pathogenic event associated with a tick bite.
I am particularly interested in the revolutionary move of creating a national watchdog committee to oversee that the much needed program to create
the necessary advancements in the way we: a) harness newly evolving technologies for : a) early detection b,) the development of an effective methodology for the monitoring of the efficacy of therapy before and during treatment based upon statistically significant changes in pathogen carriage.
As a member of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s, Dept of Health, Tick and Lyme Disease Task Force, we are currently developing policies to address the challenges faced by both patients and physicians in dealing with a unique and complex multipathogenic event with numerous ramificaitons., which we call Tick Borne Diseases.
I would be very interested in participating in a National Watchdog Committee as relates to formulating new policies in dealing with Tick Borne Diseases .
Sincerely,,
Dr. Robert-A. Ollar, Ph. d
