“I feel incredibly robbed”–a fatal case of Lyme in Colorado
Can you get Lyme disease in Colorado? Health officials typically say “no.” Patients say “yes.”
Reporter Alexis Kikoen, of Rocky Mountain PBS, explores this contentious issue in the following report.
She starts by featuring a woman who lost her 36-year-old husband to complications of Lyme disease and mold poisoning.
He tested positive for Lyme on a western blot test. But according to his widow, the doctor said Lyme was uncommon in Colorado and wrote the test off as a “false positive.”
