Virtual conference to discuss immune dysfunction in Lyme disease
The Foundation for Total Recovery and MedStar Health are hosting a virtual conference on “The Role of Immune Dysfunction and Infections” November 8-10.
It will bring together some of the world’s leading researchers and clinicians to discuss the advances in the understanding of long-lasting, debilitating conditions such as those from Lyme disease, and the breakthroughs in diagnostic and treatment options for many that are suffering.
The third annual conference is open to both practitioners and patients so that healthcare providers are better able to diagnose their patients and so that the general public can more deeply understand innovations in what may be ailing them or their loved ones.
“People with chronic Lyme disease struggle to be seen, heard and respected by the medical profession. This conference is designed to let you hear from some of the best researchers and clinicians who are working to find a cure and help you get your life back,” says Dr. Gary Kaplan, medical director of the Kaplan Center for Integrative Medicine, conference co-chair and author of “Why You are Still Sick.”
Notable sessions for the Lyme disease community include
- “Long Covid and Long Lyme: Mental Health Implications,” by Dr. Brian Fallon
- “Neuropsychiatric Diseases, Immune Dysfunction & Infections: PANS/PANDAS, POTS, PTLDS, Immune Dysfunction and Imaging & Testing for AEIE” by Dr. Jennifer Frankovich
