HHS “community engagement” on tick-borne diseases has been cancelled
The second Trump administration has imposed major restrictions on the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). These include sudden cancellations of grant review panels, a communications pause, a hiring freeze and an indefinite travel ban.
Among events that have been called off: the online Tick-Borne Diseases and Associated Illnesses National Community Engagement session, previously scheduled for January 28. It was supposed to focus on the unique challenges faced by people of color, outdoor workers, military personnel, children, older adults, and pregnant women.
