TOUCHED BY LYME: #TickCheckChallenge teaches and inspires
Last year, PA Lyme Resource Network and Invisible International came up with a real winner of a way to encourage kids to do tick checks.
In fact, in 2021, their #TickCheckChallenge won the first-ever Health and Human Services LymeX Healthathon.
They have re-launched the challenge for 2022 Lyme Awareness Month. It’s a fun and effective way to teach children how to protect themselves from tick-borne disease.
The groups teamed up with comedic children’s songwriters Louis and Dan and the Invisible Band. They created a fun song/video and dance to help kids (and adults!) remember to check for ticks.
Watch and listen here:
Explains Amy Tiehel, coordinator of the project: “The challenge part of the initiative is recording your own Tik-Tok style interpretation of the TickCheck dance, sharing it on social media channels, and tagging three friends to do the same.”
